Le Monstre

I have finally completed the painting I have been working on for my friends, Brian and Dan - apologies for taking so long. This painting started as an 80's acid explosion of geometric pastel shapes, and I've spent the last few months painting over it as best I could. I was having problems with the texture of the painting beneath, hence the re-canvased surface. But I'm happy with the way it turned out.
For Brian and Dan - "Le Monstre"
Acrylic and mixed media on canvas.

Needles and Pins

Found this little gem - gotta love Silverstein.

"Needles and pins,
Needles and pins,
Sew me a sail
To catch me the wind.

Sew me a sail
Strong as a gale,
Carpenter, bring out your
Hammers and nails.

Hammers and nails,
Hammers and nails,
Build me a boat
To go chasing the whales.

Chasing the whales
Sailing the blue,
Find me a captain
and sign me a crew.

Captain and crew,
Captain and crew,
Take me, Oh take me
To anywhere new."

-Shel Silverstein

And in January...

My work schedule has been cut down to only two days a week, because of my new spring semester schedule; the least amount of hours I think I've worked in years. However, I'm taking full advantage of my new free time! These are pics. from a walk I took with Josie. It's January 11th and it was 50 degree's outside, and sunny - yahoooo! Otherwise I'm knitting a headband, and working on my paintings. More to come soon.
